Hostage rescue really carried out by US Special Forces

You may not know this though:

 In February 2007, Narco News published a story as part of its Bogotá Connection series that revealed that the coordinates of U.S. spy and drug-interdiction flights in Colombia were being leaked out of the U.S. Embassy in Bogotá via allegedly corrupt DEA agents who were operating in partnership with Colombian narco-traffickers.

Don’t you just hate corruption? I do.

I hope that this was a successful US military mission instead of a Colombian one. I like to hear of our successes once in while.

Oaxaca AG threatened with note and human head

You know, Mexico has about the same amount of political freedoms that we have, however, it does not have the economic freedoms enjoyed here. But which do you think is of more concern to Mexico at the moment: drug cartels or Islamic terrorists?

MEXICO CITY  —  Officials say a human head was left near the home of the Oaxaca state attorney general with a note threatening three state officials.

State prosecutors say the head and note were found Saturday inside a plastic bag left a few yards from the official’s house in Oaxaca city.

The drug cartels are a threat to Mexico today and to us tomorrow. But is weaponry the solution under the Merida Initiative? I am not so sure.

I support arresting and jailing every narcosmuggling person encountered because I ascribe to the belief that if you cut off enough of the fingers, the hand cannot be used.

But cutting off fingers and cutting off heads are leagues apart. Something must be done to defeat the narcos around the world.  Any thoughts out there?

Mercenary gets 34 years for plotting coup d’etat

“Mann is a former British army commando who was arrested four years ago after a plane carrying him and about 60 mercenaries landed in Zimbabwe.

The government of Equatorial Guinea said the group was on its way to overthrow its president. Mann said at the time they were going to guard a diamond mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

A Zimbabwe court convicted Mann of trying to buy weapons illegally. He served four years in jail there before being extradited to Equatorial Guinea’s capital of Malabo earlier this year to face charges of leading an abortive coup.”
