Some Democrats are Republican sympathizers

July 8, 2008 · Leave a Comment

When the Senate votes on the FISA bill granting immunity to telecoms you will have the final piece of evidence that there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats. Both of them are against YOU.

For over 7 years now, leading Democrats have voted with Republicans and with the President to:

1. engage in a pre-emptive war
2. spy upon Americans
3. torture anyone
4. detain without cause
5. suspend habeas corpus
6. kidnap anyone
7. double the national debt

This week we will see the FISA bill come up for a vote and anyone that votes for it is a danger to the American people.

What more do you need to prove to you that the Dems and the Repubs are the same people? The same people whose interest is to rule for the Party and not for Americans or for a better America.

Nancy Pelosi is a Republican sympathizer and an Executive Branch enabler. So, too , is Harry Reid. For all the caterwauling in 2006, today we have civility and surrender. Perhaps the Republicans are correct that the Dems are the party of surrender. Their first surrender was to the President and the pledge to not impeach him. They have planned to surrender on every single bill presented to them.  Including FISA.

I call upon decent Dems to stand for America and to leave their party. Join the independents and vote for what is good for America.

i call upon decent Republicans to do the same.

FISA rides again

July 8, 2008 · Leave a Comment

This week Congress is expected to take up the issue of the FISA bill…again. We try to swat this mosquito but somehow it keeps buzzing around.

The FISA bill this week offers  grants immunity to telecoms in their role of carrying out illegal activities on the behalf and the bequest of the Executive Branch of federal government.

I have a pretty good idea that any Democrat associated with any Muslim organization was on the list to intercept his/her communications. This Administration is so partisan that  it would be news if they did not.

I hope your Senator votes against it. Sens. Feingold and Dodd have said they will filibuster this bill. Let’s hope they are successful.

Is it just me or is there less news  coverage about the FISA bill this time? Several months ago the right wing scream machine had predicted that all of America would be under attack if FISA was not renewed that very instant. I guess they were wrong. But I wonder if Barack Obama’s support of this bill has softened the media’s coverage of it?

Send an email to your Senator today and let him/her know that you reject this bill.

My Senator will be filibustering it. Go Feingold!

Old Soviet Union liberals take over?

July 8, 2008 · Leave a Comment

In the former Soviet Union, one country has decided to de-militarize and clean up the environment.

Is this a surprise to anyone else?

TBILISI, Georgia, July 7 (UPI) — The Georgian Defense Ministry has signed an agreement to dismantle weapons and demilitarize former and current military bases in the country.

Georgian First Deputy Defense Minister Batu Kutelia signed a memorandum of understanding with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. Under the memorandum Georgia agreed to help in the environmental recovery and demilitarization of former and current military bases around the country, the OSCE reported.

I wonder if the Right WIng Scream Machine likes Liberals if they live in other countries?

Socialism… again

July 8, 2008 · Leave a Comment

In the Senate, Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) will take up the main bill containing Congress’ response to the housing and mortgage crisis (CP). The central provision of the package is a massive program to offer a federal guarantee to banks on mortgages if the lender agrees to reduce the outstanding principal on the mortgage to 85% of the current value of the house and reduce high, variable interest rates to a lower fixed rate. A version of the bill has passed the House but just before Congress adjourned for the 4th of July recess, Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) derailed a final vote by demanding a vote on an amendment of his containing renewable energy tax changes. Once the bill passes the Senate, however, it still faces a veto threat for President Bush, who has objected to the price of a $4 billion grant program contained in the bill for local governments to buy, fix up and sell abandoned homes.-OpenCongress

I hope the President vetoes this bill.

What is the purpose of this? To give money to banks if they will reduce mortgage rates.  Is that not socialism?

If you know the difference between economic socialism and this , please tell me in the comments.
