Can the government control your soul? Maybe not but they certainly might want the power to control your moral actions and to punish you if you do not adhere to their beliefs.
There is a movement afoot to establish God’s kingdom on earth by using the power of government. Only the government is recognized as the legitimate source of force to make a person do what he/she does not wish to do.
The Libertarians talk about Force and Fraud as if they are twins working together to force you to do what government wants. And now some religious people want to use the force of government to make you live the way they want you to.
Establishing Christ’s kingdom on earth no longer waits for God, it waits for people to make it so.
